Wrapping Up the Year of the Dragon with a VC Banquet at Koi Palace

Updated: Apr 28

There’s something special about closing out the year surrounded by familiar faces, new connections, and a table full of steaming dishes that feel like home.

This past month, the Asian Tech Collective gathered for our end-of-year VC Banquet, bringing together members of our community for an intimate evening at Koi Palace, a beloved Bay Area institution known for its traditional Cantonese banquet cuisine. Following the success of our Lunar New Year Hot Pot earlier this year, we wanted to create another moment of connection—a space to reflect, celebrate, and nourish both body and community.

As the conversations flowed as effortlessly as the tea, one thing remained clear: Asian VCs are a growing force in the venture landscape. With over 25% of the VC community identifying as Asian, our collective voice and influence continue to expand. But beyond the numbers, it’s the strength of relationships and shared experiences that hold the real power.

In classic banquet style, we filled the room with four bustling tables, each packed with vibrant conversation and exquisite dishes: delicate dim sum, savory seafood, roast meats, and, of course, those famous Koi Palace desserts that cap the night just right.

The setting was intimate and the conversations anything but surface level. This is the magic we aim to cultivate at Asian Tech Collectivea space where Asian VCs, founders, and tech leaders can lean on each other, navigate the evolving landscape, and celebrate the journey together.

Thank you to everyone who joined us. Here’s to more shared tables and shared successes in the year ahead.
